Came across a set of adjustable rockers, on the box it says for Olds and Cadillac. Now.. how is that possible? the bank angle and all that technincal stuff is different between the two engines and if i am not mistaken the rocker shaft diameter is different as well. so what gives? did some companies make rocker arms that interchanged between the two?? the whole rocker arm debacle is really starting to give me a head ache.. so close to saying "F" it.. and source a set of adjustable push rods.
the bank angle and all that technincal stuff is different ???? You mean the cylinder bank angle or the tappet gallery angle?
They're McGurk, aren't they? His packages always said that on them, but somewhere (like on the end of the box), it should have the actual application printed on it.
aahhhhh, thanks for the clarification heathen. i knew there was something fishy about that. hopefully some poor ******* doesnt blow a wad of money on those and ends up loosing money on em.
A '49 Olds and a '49 Cad are very simular. Of course the bank angle is 90 degrees on both. Not sure what you are calling "Bank Angle" Don't know the rocker shaft dias. Last time I had an Olds apart was '60 or '61. I had an Olds and my brother had a Cad for his '34. Then I could give you a good answer. Now, maybe not.
i used the wrong term as per "angle" my appologies, i mean the pushrod leaves the block and head at a different angle. this is the reason why when you put the stude adjustables that work on caddy's on an olds the geometery is way off. and heathen is still correct that the Caddy had slightly larger diameter rocker shafts.
