Well, I was holding off on posting this but my curiosity is killing me and I have been unable to find out anything on my own. I purchased this roadster, 1929 I believe, from a guy here in Austin that did not know much about the car. He had held on to this car for over 12 years in his garage and decided that he would never finish it and I was lucky enough to pick it up several months ago. All the guy knew about the car was that it had come out of a Farmers/Ranchers field in the south Austin area in the 80's and that it was an old hotrod.

The windshield stanctions were chopped on the car, as was the windshield and frame, but they were cut up near the pivot and then a section below removed then rewelded and blended in. There are taillight holes in the rear valance that are rectangular and there are license plate holes and one for a license light. The car looked to have been a rumble seat car originally and even has some lead covering two bullet holes in the p***enger cowel area, as well as some light lead work in other areas.

I had someone tell me that the color on this car looked like the old Buck and Bowels Racecar???, I searched but was unable to come up with anything. For all I know this could have been a East or West Coast car that broke down while transversing the country and a farmers kid ended up with it. I am starting to build the car and would like to know it's history, if it can be found, as it might dictate how I build the car; it will be on duece rails regardless. Thank you all and I wish you the best with your own projects.

Nice find! You mentioned Buck And Bohls?

Well, from looking at those photos it doesnt look like it but they did have 2 of them. Roger Bohls is no longer around but his nephew Rodney is and I worked with him awhile back. I have orig. photos of the yellow car and this car you have doesnt look to be it. See for yourself in this hot Rod article.

I was told by another drag racer here in town that the yellow car is tucked away in N. Austin in the same condtion as it was back in the day. The other was red "444" sold to Linford Mclemore renamed "Inferno" a long time ago and later was flipped racing by the guy who had it after that.

I sure wish it was one of them.

I wish it were one of those cars too. To bad the renamed inferno car was flipped, I really dig the spokes and that crazy over carbed motor.

Olds powered too. I can't wait to see what you do with it.

P.S. I don't know if you've got the right haircut for this.
