Let's see if I can get a couple videos to work. '55 Chevy 4 door drag car.

I've had these videos for a while now and been meaning to get them on the internet.

This is our '55 Chevy 4 door drag car. It was kind of a joke when we put it together, and it just snow-balled from there.

These two videos are with the old combo in it. We have a new engine/transmission in it now that will hopefully step it up a bit. The engine was a .060 over, 13:1 DZ302 rotating ***embly in a 350 block. Out-of-the-box Brodix street heads. Small solid lift cam. Predator carb. Muncie 4 speed. 4.30 gears. It did alright for a 3500lb car. Best 1/8th mile p*** ever was a 7.85@87, and 1/4 mile was 12.51@105. The slicks that were on it were wore out when we got them, and the 12.51 p*** was one of the last p***es made on them in the 2nd video. You can see it spin off the line.

Thanks ! Unfortunately that one didn't last. I blew it up at the Thaw last year, so we put an automatic with a 5K stall in it. Hopefully it will work better with the new engine we've got in it now.

Sorry to hear you are ditching or have ditched the 4 speed. It will be cool to make the car faster, but you can't beat banging gears.

It definitely gets its fair share of looks at the track ! Haha ! I heard quite a few laughs the first couple times we took it out, then people started to take notice when the 7.85's popped up while shifting gears.

It saddens me you are going with an automatic, but... that's a neat car! Small blocks

 

Yeah, Troy (s****e) and I reallllly wanted to put a 4 speed back in it, but my dad (32Es***) was afraid the Super T10 we had to replace the Muncie would go out the same way.

Besides, it's really a lot easier on parts with an automatic in it. And I eventually want to go a lot faster, so putting the automatic in it will make it more consistent.

My '36 Chevy coupe is getting a 5 speed in it though, and it will be a street/strip car.

me too.... i fought to keep the car a 4speed,,,, and so did aaron (kinda)... but in the end don(aarons dad) had final say.... auto being easier on parts..... altough i think aaron can tear anything up.....

Those vid are well over due my friend, but that motor is the ***'S!!! And S****e they can not call you a redneck, you have to many tattoos on you neck. hehe

 

Cant wait to see that ****er run with that nasty 355 in it.I think its gunna surprise alot of people .It may have my # or be real close now (especially in the 1/8).Either way i wanna line up with it for fun .That car hooks like a mutha now with the work they did on the rear suspension ,from what i saw at the DOTD .Good luck guys and see you in a few weeks ...
