Hey this is sorta' my first project. I used to own a 70' mustang and tuned a little on it but nothing really major. I bought($2900 with engine still running, no grey or blue smoke!) into a 63 nova, inline six and am looking for any good advise. First thing I'm working on now is it's fuel system. So far I replaced both fuel filters due to paint chips and pieces of the finish inside the gas tank(I assume) and am shopping around for a new single barrel carb. My local Autozone has one for $170 before core charge. Is that a good deal? and I was also wondering...when I put it in, Is it good? or do I have to tune it? If so, I wouldn't mind a few pointers or short cuts. Thanks much, Tony.

170 seems steep, you could rebuild it yourself for much cheaper. Check out http://www.stevesnovasite.com also, lots of good folks and info there.
