I just bought a 49 Dodge Business Coupe for next to nothing. The more I look at the car the more attractive it becomes to me. With a few kustom touches it'll be a fun ride. Pictures coming soon.

I've eyed a couple the last few years. I really got interested when I picked up a 270 hemi that's in really nice conditon. I still plan a rebuild of the hemi but I thought how cool it would be to have aMopar to put it in.

depends on the price. those cars are kind of weird. they don't typically bring great money because to be perfectly honest, they are ugly and hard to make look right. i wouldn't bet on a quick flip unless you're buying it super good, and are willing to let it go for a fair price.

I remember my Dad telling me about a '49 or '50 Wayfarer he had for a while in the '50's.
He used to say it was a called a Convertible Coupe (Not sure if thats the exact title) and that it had removeable side glass that you slid into pockets next to the seat when you werent using them. Anyone ever seen one? Or is my memory failing me again?

I had a 50 Dodge Business Coupe for a while and never got anywhere with it, but I saved a bunch of pictures for inspiration. This is a 50 Plymouth owned by a member on here, I forget his name. There was a mild chop done to it, I think 2"

I think they are way cool. Subtle and out of the ordinary. I had looked at picking up a 50 that OddRod had for sale a while back.

Normally if you gave it enough throught to post, you must be leaning towards doing it.

    Go for it!

  13. One of those coupes ran around our small town when I was a kid. The retired postmaster had it - it was kinda "odd" and one of a kind. Painted that light pea green color, he probably bought the car new. I liked that car - he had a pretty daughter in my class too but that's another story. When he passed on the car was stashed in a relatives garage down the street. One of the goofy cousins ended up with it I think but I haven't seen it for years. Car was like new - wish I had it now!

I'd buy that in a heartbeat if it was in my state.

Cheap to get into, especially if it is driveable.

  15. I love 'em...but then I love any 3 window coupes. My buddy is holding a 49 plymouth 3 window for me...says I can have it for 500 bucks. It's got some rust issues in the front fenders but saveable..
I REALLY love those huge 46-48 chrysler 3 windows.

Here's my latest addition. I still haven't seen it outside it's storage but I had to buy it when it was presented to me. It's a driver.

I think they were called a RUNABOUT. Saw one for sale in Illinois a while back. From what I've read, the door glass was a plastic flap like a soft top JEEP.

    CORRECTION: They were called SPORTABOUT.
