48 f1 door lock

    Okay, finally got eh hinge pins out. doors are almost stripped ready to chop. But now I cant get the frikken door lock out! Geeez, does anyone know how to take these out without a plasma cutter? Thanks

    I believe the lock is held in by a small set screw.

    I had a 48 F-1 years ago. I have had a bunch of older Fords since then ...
    so I may be remembering the wrong Ford. :confused:

    But look where the door jam is ( in the area of the lock )
    Look for a small set screw.

    Set screw in door jamb. PROBABLY UNDER THE WEATHERSTRIP.

    Small hole behind the weatherstrip, it should be a hex key.

    Thanks deuce, green and terpu! That was it. Must have still been emotionally drained from the hinge pin removal ordeal! lol

    What the last three said. If it does not come on then shoot some penetrating oil in the hole and let it set for a couple of days.
