hey folks, i need some pictures of 59-61 gm bubbletops, anything with a real nice cruiser/lowrider look to it. err, hamb style i suppose. you know, nothing too muscle car stylish. thanks!
also, i need a pics of a particular car. i had it saved once and i don't know what happened to it. it was of a red '61 pontiac with a white top, slammed on chrome wheels. anyone know the car? spanks
That is my opinion as well. The term "Bubble Top" Was coined after the 62 Chevy Bel Aire was introduced as a means to differentiate the old style 61 top used on these cars from the new "Convertible" stykled top introcuced on the 62 Chevy Impala and Impala SS models. This style would be available through 1964 and had crease lines formed in the bow line theme of a true convertible. Prior to that all GM model two door hdTop models had the flowing style top from 59 through 1961. The styling from 65 to later 66 years were along a similar theme as the early 59-61. The term has become generic such as in going for a "Coca Cola" and buying a root beer, or asking for a Kleenex" and recieving a "Puffs"
But just to stay OT.... Heres one I Photoshopped........By the way, thats a nice Buick you have there bro! I think its the cousin to mine.

[ QUOTE ] cant go to any custom thread without seeing 1low's buick, even if its not on topic [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, but it's such a cool car, I certainly don't mind! These are all really nice cars. I'm glad this is a GM-only thread, I'd hate to see that butchered T-bird with the Starliner roof show up. That car was a crime-and-a-half!

Dammit- You're going to blow my cover. I'm trying to maintain a low profile. I'm just glad no one has pics of the previous "paintjob". Let me explain- My coworkers painted the car for me a couple of years ago just to get it out of primer. (I was away from the shop for a couple of days for meetings) The reult was a white car with a large blue stripe that FADED into a black and white checkerboard at the back of the car. The effect was nicely executed -but 10 years to late. IT WAS CRAZY. I felt like Austin Powers when I drove it. I eventually primed it black at zman's house. Plan for it now are to make it light blue with a white top(factory style -this is the way it was when I was in high school)
I love the "wheels up" superstocker stance on this one. Not digging the fender skirts, though. All this one needs is chromies, IMO. This sixty is just awesome. This pic came off the HAMB but I don't recall from whom. Perhaps these are a little two muscle car-ish, but I really like 'em both.
killer stuff. one more bump for the weekend crowd. hey, anyone have a link to the thread on 60's rides a few weeks back?
Here is my latest vehicle, 60 LeSabre, I guess it would be a bubbletop. Also, here is the link to 60's cars. -Joe http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=614520&page=&view=&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1

Hey high-test, have you seen any pics of Jay Beale's 61 Olds? That thing is sweet. I don't know how to post pictures though. Also, this guy I know Dave is in the process of building the "world's lowest '59 Buick" I'll get some pictures of that next time I'm over at his place. Deke
