    Hi,

I live in Europe & I'm going to make a 304 French Flathead.

I have a new Tattersfield repro intake.

I would like to know what would be the best choice to be made regarding carburetors : cfm, ...

Best regards & many thanks for your help

Micheal, I think a pair of stromberg "48"s would be the ticket. That would give you about 330 CFM. A pair of Ford/Holley "94''s would give you about 350-600 CFM, depending on which ones you use.

    Hi,

    Thanks dickster27

    It's a 4 Carb Intake ; The objective would be to have approximately 600 - 700 Cfm ?

Which carbs to choose with a progressive Linkage ?

    Many Thanks Michael

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me the Tattersfield four carb manifold is patterned after the Edelbrock and Weiand with narrowed interconnecting runners, or "balance tubes", rather than a true runner. If this is the case, stay away from progressive linkage - it'll never work right. Four original 97's will get you the 600 cfm. Four new English Strombergs will yield about 648 cfm. Either way, straight linkage, main jets at .042" and powervalves - #67 in the two centers & #69 in the two outboards, would be a very good starting point.

May I ask, where did you wind up purchasing the intake from? I've e-mailed Tony B. a few times and haven't gotten a reply back.

    Thanks.

Well, my 3 cents is run 4 81s, all at the same time..135 to 140 CFMs each will give you about 540 to 550 CFMs..I think this would be a great match up..

use the carbs as TB's..... retrofit the intake with injectors.... run a simple SD setup... and say goodbye to carb life...

What would look any better than 2 or 4 nice Stromberg's on top of a nice Flathead ?
Holley 94's are nice but I would go with the Stromberg's !
All depends on what look and performance you are going for !
    Just a thought !
