I think it's a `36. Bottom of the grille, and medallion at the front of the hood panels are clues for me.

No "May" about it,first off kiss your lucky ass for finding it then start begging big time. Buy a junk import pickup bed and do a swap on his field trailer. Do that first as a deal sweetener he probably doesn't care what is on that field trailer he just needs one.

It is a 35 for sure, where the A piller meets the cowl it has a sharp transition.

Looks like a very nice and complete truck.

It is definetly a 36, deeper grill shell & placement of Ford badge at the front of the hood side.

maybe he would trade for a pickupbox trailer? You know, something he might find handy around the farm.

that probably has a stromberg 97

It's definitley going to need a lot of love but IMO worth whatever it would take to bring it back. If you can get the origional bed by replacing it with somthing satisfactory with the owner fine. If not I'd build a neat stake rack on the back finished off really nice with chrome details and varnished wood. I think you would be able to find any origional parts needed for the rebuild as there seems to a fair amount of those trucks around on Ebay or in Hemmings. As mentioned you can get a repop bed complete from a couple of sourses I have to go with the "ever popular" SBC and automatic to make it a reliable easy cruiser, avoid the "rat rod" syndrome by finishing the body work and do glossy paint. Let us know how you make out getting it.

After finding that, why on earth did you pick 'The Loser' for a moniker? Looks like a '36 to me, i had one and let it get away. They're beauties. Go for it.
