Been following since Ver 1.0; Nice buildup.

Would have like to have the first Ver. pickup cab. Be nice to build it to tow one of my ''sami's'' (Suzuki Samurai).

    a little progress...
Battery access lid, E-Brake handle (no pics sorry)

Started to create fuel tank brackets, plasma cutted 7/16 steel, bolted to a gusset welded on the frame. Need to to ad a flat bar to have a better loooking bracket and a larger support for the tank...and create a brace systeme (don't know yet, metal or leather)

Hmmmm - how about springs running over the top of the tank to hold it onto the supports?

it's a scratch built frame, topped with rivets to ad a "factory" flavor

  10. Been following this thread a long time now and You are doing good with that build.

Getting close now, keep going and You will get rewarded for all the work when You can take it out for the first drive.

Where in France do You live,if it's in the northern parts it can't be to long of a trip to get to the Swedish Hot Rod Reunion in the middle of July, see You there OK?

I think I saw a French car there last summer so the trip has been done before,no news there...

    Be good now/ Havoc B.

Getting close, but still some works to do until have a trip to Sweden !
But, who know, maybe, one day..

  12. Oh there's not that much of a hurry, the date of Swedish H.R.R. is in the middle of July, and the weekend after that it's Rat Fink Reunion 200 km north of Hot Rod Reunion,Rat Fink is located 60 km from where I live, maybe we can set up some beds for You and a couple of friends so You can attend both of those events.

If You wan't I can check out the terms for sales on those shows so You can bring some of Your stuff along and earn a buck or two, pays a bit of the gas-bill maybe...

Do a search here on the HAMB and You will find a thread or two with pic's from Hot Rod Reunion, and on my personal webpage (link below in this post)there are some pic's from Rat Fink Reunion (and some other places)

OK,get wrenching and get You and Your fine automobil and some friends up to us here in the land of vikings...

    OK 'nuf for now/Havoc B.

    some progress again

    E-brake (from a 50's french car)

cut and bent some gussets to ad some rigidity to the rear spring perches

I bent and ovalize 22mm round rods in order to use them for tailight supports. The bended rod is welded to a custom shaped sheetmetal pieces bolted to the lights. Supports are finaly treaded and bolted to the rear crossmember.

i've also worked on a bracket to bolt the rear licence plate to the rear end. It's a inversed plate from a french 50's car.

the grille shell ('27 Chevy truck) is now chopped and bolted to the frame using some brackets welded to the frame between the shell and radiator

next step, brake lines and driveshaft...

It's a 1927 Chevrolet truck grille shell, pretty rare, especially here in France. I found it on a local flea market for 10 bucks, a real cool deal.

Etienne, Really liked the car with the photo shopped hood. It males the car look older - or from an older era. Looking good.

Etienne, Great thinkers have the same thoughts. Are you planning a hood for your Modified ? Mine is a '29 "A" RPU on a double Z'd frame. It will use a stock shell and hood. Will mount the head lites down low even with the radiator shell.

Not sure for the hood, before that I have a lot of work to finish the important stuff like brakes, engine details, etc...
But later, maybe. I don't have any hood coming with the body, so I need to make one, if I want one.

Sorry, but, no, any update ! I was super busy the last months, working hard on PowerGlide Magazine. I hope to find some days to work on it during the summer ! I just need to do the brake line and finish the shifter bracket, to try a first "road test". Of course, after that, to have a reliable and finished car, lot of work is needed (electricity, engine tune up, firewall, dashboard, ect).
Don't worry, as soon as I will make some progress, pictures will be posted here !

There's NO chance; any modification on a car/bike is now illegal here, there's no way to obtain homologation.
At the moment only one company can provide insurance for hopped up oldies.
But the cops can take your car out of the road if they think it is usefull to do so.
It's a lot of paperwork... so most of them get away with it and will let you drive.
