I have been to Charlotte Autofair, Fall Moultrie, Street National National Swap meets. I was wondering on the West Coast is the Pomona Swap Meet the Taj Mahal of the swap meet out that way?
HELL NO ! Turlock, San Diego big 3, Fathers Day Roadster Show & numorous Small Swaps kick Pomona's ***. Unless you are looking for Camaro, Chevelle, Chevy Truck, Chevy HiPo Parts, Straw Hats, Churros, Steering Wheel covers, 20" Wheels or Junk chrome from the Bumper Boys.
Drove 800 miles to go to the famous Pomona swap meet on Jan. 18, 2010, had I known what was there I wouldn't have driven 8 blocks. Just my 2 cents worth.
Pomona has 17 miles of booths, plus thousands of cars for show and sale. Impossible to do both in the same day and have fun. To experience Pomona correctly requires 2 visits. Devote one trip for the booths only and the next trip for the cars. Tom
It used to be so much better in the early eighties. It was amazing then. Now a days if I don't go, I don't miss it.
