Banjo rear disk brakes?

    I am trying to find a rear disk brake setup for my model a (29) rear banjo. Any ideas??

    My guess Ron, is that in order to do that you'd need to convert the original rear axles to the more modern 28 spline type. That would be a bit involved, as the axle housing would have to be modified to hold the bearings, different side (axle) gears would need to be installed, and the new axles pretty much custom fit for you application. The original axle bells would be retained and could become the mounts for the calipers. Then, the new discs with an internal parking brake could be used. You might want to look thru the old threads re converting to modern axles. There are a couple. It'd be a neat project, but time consuming, I'm sure.

    GMC Bubba made a rear disc kit for his T, would be similar but overall you will have to make your own.

    unless you are running some sort of big block with m***ive amounts of power, I do not see where rear discs are needed. Buy a newer set of the self energizing repops. That with a front disc kit will be more than enough to stop your car.
