This started as a Steve Stanford drawing and the body was mastered by Rik Hoving and resin cast by Replicas & Miniatures Co. of Maryland. I built it back in the '90's. Don't remember if I ever posted it on here or not,,,,,,,,,,,but then,,,,,,,,,there's a lot I don't remember.
...... and a 48 dash. I also enjoy your postings. This one of my favourite threads, shame there is not more Sundays in a week. Rod
I enjoy the Sunday Model postings as it's brings back great memories of model building when I was a kid. Quality is super.
I built some models when I was 15 or so, I have had them in this box in the closet, I am 46 now. I opened it a few weeks ago, first time in 20 years that box has been opened. Do you want to see what models were in it? (gosh, hope ya say yes)
It's cheasy but I built this a week ago ,It was prepainted and Metal diecast ,Worst part is I built it and sold it on Ebay the same day .I'm buying another one to keep.I wish I had more time to build the couple kits I have ,This is the stepping stone for the real ones ......
ok, ****py pictures, but these were built when I was a wee lad, when I opened the box, a ton of memories flooded back, I used to chop, channel, run thread for fuel lines, plug wirres, chute lines, mirror the firewalls....damn funny to look back and see what I did as a kid. funny stuff, I found my first chop w/ puddy and everything, you will know it when ya see it I found some frame where I had cut and modified them and welded them back with a soldering iron good stuff
Kool pics. Lyle the paint and glue fumes can make a lot of us forget. LOL I will have to take a pic of my 64 Impala AWB project. Hey have you guys heard about the model car contest at Torque Fest this year?
Good morning...this weekly thread has got me going, editing and resizing some of my model show archive so today here are some from the portland -eugene area from the last few years....oops and pleasanton...
I don't do too much with models anymore, but I found a model of my ElCamino at a swap meet in Detroit a few weeks back and since I'm putting the car in Autorama I thought I'd do one. Got me really interested so I did one of my old Elky too. The newer one isn't HAMB friendly but since this is models I thought I'd post it. The first is of my 60 Elky and it's model then the newer one. See you at Autorama
Work in progress Amt 49 ford chopped top, frenched lights, molded 49 merc grill shell and rounded hood corners.
I love this thing....... I'd like to see this with a 3window roof, as kinda like a coupe express. Photo shop any body????
Here are the builds I am most proud of...most are a couple years old. I have lost some vision, tactile feel, and patience so these will represent my best efforts for now....jim W
looks nice. you doing a 2 tone around that trim? either way nice chop. the coupes are tough to chop and have look nice.
more from when I was a kid, theyare all broken since the glue quit holding I guess, I am going to re-do them and put them on a shelf instead of the box and forgotten. this one is yellowed from the old clear
I know probably everyone made this model, but I got this when I was probably 10 or 11 and it got shuffled to the dreaded ba*****t in my parents house. I happened to find it a mere 30 years later this month and decided to build it. I'm not as clean and cool as the other posts but at least I finally did it. (revell visible V-8)
^^ thats awesome, we had one and made a cord to plug it in the wall, for a split milli-second it turned a kabazillion rpms.
Here's one I just finished, Monogram `30 Model A Coupe on Revell `32 rails, Flatty put to gether from partsbox and replicas and Miniatures.
