If anyone wants to give this a go with something a bit more permanant, I can have our screener do dome laquer water slides or some rub-downs. Basically how we used to do the gauges, now we screen the dials or pad-print them. The decals or rub-downs last forever and look good, plus are pretty cheap.

See if you can find an ALPS 5000 printer.
    I have one.
They use a wax based ribbon that works great for waterslide decals.

Nice work, You may want to re-do the 10 mph though. IT is backwards, unless thats the look you wanted? Thanks for the tips on guages, I might tackle mine.

  11. Very awesome!!! The same guages I have in my Willys. I am thinking the same thing with the glow-in-the-dark paints for the numbers and needle.

I never noticed that at the first look, but you are right. Now that I see it, it bothers me looking at it. You will notice that the 90 and 100 are also backwards.

It may look logical for reading the speedo, but it just looks wrong.

Thanks for bringing this one back up - another one I missed first time around.

If you look at the original gauges, the 10, 90 and 100 are correct as they are the right way up to read.

If you use a color lazer printer you get waterproof waterslide decals.
Lazertranz is what I used for some temporary window/body decals we used on our 2010 Power Tour 73 Gremlin. Lots of red and blue on those decals and no UV protection. They faded.
