I have a 55 Ford truck Overdrive trans. Not sure what motor it was hooked up to. I have a 56 Ford truck with a 223 straight six. And i want to hook the trans up to the 223. I was wondering if the splins would be the same V8 and L6? Thanks for the help!

If he's got the ******, he can measure the diameter and count the splines of the input shaft.

Does the ****** have a top cover? Usually there is casting ID on the box. Could be a Borg-Warner T86.

    thnx, jack vines

    They should be the same.
