Lonestar Round Up 2010 - Minibike Races!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by BLAKE, Jan 16, 2010.

  1. It was fun to watch last year. Hope to make it down again this year.

Here were the races from my show. Breeder's races were pretty cool as well with a real working Xmas tree.

I have that identical bike. My Dad used to take me for rides on it. Needs a lot of work on it though.

After some "issues" last year, I found this frame @ the NB swap meet and built it for this years race. The drink holder is removable to reduce weight for the race. IT IS SO ON!!!

Hey Blake is the track going to be as long a track as it was the first year? Or will it be like last years?

I am not sure that I will race again. It took a long time for my shoulder to heal from the face plant I took during practice last year.

Who I am trying to kid, I will probably be there.

Dennis - that is so fucking cool. I love that you can see my pole! :p The attention to detail ROCKS!

Don't be a pussy Wesley. haha. Seriously though, I didn't even do a face plant but my back killed me the whole weekend. My pussy kat doesn't have very good shocks! ;)

HA! Don't even pretend that your minibike setup is so technically precise that you need to know how big the oval's gonna be...!!!! :D

I assume it will be a bigger oval, like 2008, since the only reason it was smaller last year was the last-minute need to put the bands under the barn, outta the rain. I'll get a real answer for ya.

Hey Blake, Let me explain for A 31 Mo Fo if I could, He is a highly technical guy that is concerned about weight transfer, gearing , and overall riding style, he is a student of oval short track racing not English style circle speedway racing which requires more torque and rpm's from the motor , his plan is to reign supreme over all entrants in the mini bike races.

Gotcha. How much pit space will his 18-wheeled race rig require...? Does he need his own private Port-O-Let...? Security...?

Blake, you're freaking hilarious!!! Actually, I would of been disappointed if I didn't get some sort of response from you! I plan on having my "non-traditional" Rupp there also just to ride around the grounds.

I don't know what the heck was going on with mine last year. I rode it fine at home for weeks before the trip. It rode fine into the expo grounds, but as soon as I got in the building, I couldn't keep it running. I drained all the gas twice and it would run for a short time and die for no clear reason. I think I must have gotten some crappy ethanol mix of gas. I still managed to make a few laps, but I quickly learned, my gearing, 3.5hp, and my size does not for a quick minibike make. But with a long oval, I might try it again. It gets up some speed on straight, long stretches.

The Fidgiter is correct! Project Meyhem is under way, but here's a picture of her as she sits now. I posted this view because it will be the view most commonly seen throughout the race... :D :D :D
