The exhaust manifold is hitting the stearing column. I first tried the stock cast iron manifold and they hit. So I was told to get the tight fit headers from Speedway, they were closer but still hit. Anyone out there have a 454 in there 60 Impala, or know what exhaust manifold that works.
I put a 468 in a '61 Chevy and used Hedman block huggers. I put a dimple in the tube where it interfered...cut a slot and welde ind a small piece of scrap header tubing on its side. The thing had so much bottom end that I could never tell how much horsepower it lost. Charlie
Charlie, I think that may be the route Im gonna have to take. I already have some huggers here. Do you have any pix of what you did.
