Hey guys I've heard rumor of aftermarket adapter mounts to drop a 302 into an S-10 ch***is. I've heard it on this site (no need to cut/weld, just drop in and move on). I've done a few searches and haven't found a supplier for this adapter. I suppose these could be home built, but if someone is making them, I'd rather devote the time elsewhere. Thanks!
1. this is a hot rod site, not a mini truck site. 2. who made the 302 in question? gmc, ford or chevy? believe it or not, there is more than one. 3. easy enough to find a few examples of this already done. there are kits for ford in ford, i don't think a 5.0 is a popular enough motor in the s10 crowd to warrant a kit. http://www.automotivehelper.com/topic329425.htm http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4890681
1. this is a hot rod site, not a mini truck site. I don't know if you've noticed, but the S-10 ch***is is becoming very popular to put under hot rods. I was thinking about putting this under a Packard with a 5.0. I was talking about the ford 5.0 .
If you can do a ch***is swap, you can make your own motor mounts. If you want to bolt parts together, use a ranger ch***is.
Never heard of mounts for that combo, but shouldn't be hard to make. The Fox ch***is double hump oil pan would probably be the best to use, but because of the Fords' front mounted oil pump, it will sit a little higher in the frame than a SBC would. In a Packard, that shouldn't matter. -KK
Fan, how about using the 03 and up full size ford front (crown vic , cop car ) crossmember..It is self contained w/upper and lower a arms, rack and pinion, and has some stands to bolt your ford engine in place... It is 34" wide @ the frame..do a search, the info is here....It would save a lot of work making body mounts etc.. Dave
