I think I posted mine before... but I have made quite a bit of progress on it. Here are some recent pics:
Here's my Tudor. Hopefully it'll be on the road this summer. Fairly stock and will look like a '40s custom. The way it looked in Aug. 08 when I bought it. It's a little farther than this now, but here's what it looked like about a month ago when we were fitting the home built skirts.
Customers 36 3w I'm currently working on....same guy also has a 35 sedan delivery and a 35 roadster..
My 36 is my avatar. I got in 1984 as just a body and frame ,was chopped already,body work was all done,was raced at Elmirage in early 1951 ,it is written on inside of pass door,could never trace history.I turned it over Sept 14.1985,flatened roof on right side and damaged fenders and side.Bought another 5 window and a good friend JIM Marchane who is the best body & painter i know cut out bad parts and put new parts in.I will post pictures that showed damage and repairs.
My cabriolet - has been lowered since the pic, has an H&H 21-stud flatty and columbia Woodie is currently on a '40 Frame, putting it back on a '36 The roadster ute is being pieced back together from a pile of rusty crap
Would love to see that car as it sits now!!! With the nose down a bit it's probably perfect!!! What a cool car.
The green one isn't his. That was taken at Hopperstad's. I have some more recent pics of Todd's cabriolet. I just have to remember to send them to him. It RULES though.
toddle321- Is this what the roadster ute looked like when you got it? I can't imagine theres too many '35 roadster utes floating around the US. I tried to buy this one up here, but I was a day late/dollar short.
Thanks for the nice comments gents, The green car in the picture is a '37 tudor that hopperstad is working on. eberhama - the Ute was unfotunately in much worse shape than your pic, hopperstad is putting it back together into something workable. The doors, cowl and rear fenders were saveable, and Kerry made new bedsides from the patterns we got.
Did this fine piece come out of Portland, Oregon area? It looks like one I was dealing on a year or two back that I got tired of the phone tag and also just could't bring myself to take the project on for what he was asking. Every once in a while I have a weak moment and think about calling to see if he still has it. They are pretty cool.
Uncle Buck - it is the one out of Portland. It was a bit more than I wanted to pay for something in this condition - but they're rare.
Heres a shot of my '35 Phaeton I picked up out of Seattle last fall. It had been sitting since the 60s, last on the road in San Diego. I got tons of stuff with the car. Already has juice brakes, I'm leaving it as original as I can except a Pontiac 283 (canadian SBC) with a '39 trans. I already flattened out the rear x-member (dropped it 5.5"). I dropped the stock axle in my jig last weekend, ended up dropping the axle to 5.5"!!! I'm reversing the eyes and may run a 1" longer shackle. I want it as low as I can get it. The w/s stanchions were chopped 2 1/4" so I chopped the w/s frame to match. I'm working on leaning the posts back a bit too. The fenders are mint and it came with NOS runningboards too. Also came with Desoto ribbed bumpers, but also came with brand new chrome stock bumpers which I'm gonna put on it. Its getting black rims with blackwall tires, prolly spray it a dark color. And then just drive the wheels off of it. I'll get the axle in it and take some updated pics of it for you guys... -Shiny
