I have a dropped I-beam front axle (unknown manufacturer), kingpin-to-kingpin measures 47.25-inches center-to-center (at the top of the axle), 48-inches (at the underside of the axle), it's spring perch bosses measure 38.5-inches center-to-center. I'm using split bones, in case that's important. According to most websites, I'm supposed to deduct 4.5-inches for the perches/shackles, for an overall spring length of 34-inches, eye-to-eye. Anyone know of a source for a leaf spring with this dimension? I've searched all the usual suspects and come up empty. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
sounds like a 1937 and up axle. (lost a touch of width when dropped) Posies 1009 spring. When running spring on top.
do you have an outfit around that makes replacemant spring for comercial trucks, most of the time these out fits also make springs for p***enger vehicles, you just call them up with the info and they can have them bent up...here in oregon(on the other side of the continent) we have oregon spring..
Yeah, check out posies, we have guys calling in all the time with special spring requests, and todd is very good at filling those requests. Tell him what you are doing, and he'll be able to set you up with exactly what you're looking for. website is www.posiesrodsandcustoms.com. Good luck!
