hello guys and gals . Has anyone redrilled gm rotors (s10 and 85 z28 ) from 4-3/4" to 4-1/2" bolt pattern ? i am building a custom car and i have a mustang rear and 05 rims , I would like to redrill my front end rotors to fit the ford bolt pattern . I have s10 rotors that are the same as the camero rotors. can this be done? need help ? thank for input . this is a great site for help .
just run the part numbers at www.napaautoparts.com see if they are the same and if the specs are the same.
If you look at the inside of the CamAro rotors I think you're going to see reinforcing ribs that are located between the stud holes. At least they are there on most good quality rotors and that's going to make it difficult to redrill between the holes. You'll also want to make sure the center hole of your Ford wheels will fit over the GM rotor casting. You want the wheel center hole to be a snug fit on the rotor. If those 2 issues are ok then go for it but I'd seriously recomend having it done by a machine shop. There's alot more to it than setting the Mustang wheel on the GM rotor and having at it with a big drill..
what is it about Camaro owners that makes them want to stick an E in where the second A is? I see it in ads...postings (such as this one). It can't be that difficult to look at your registration....or nameplate on the car. I don't expect everyone in the western hemisphere to spell as punctiliously as I do, but gee whiz, when you have the NAME sitting in your driveway, it would seem to simplify matters somewhat. thanks for letting me stick my AR rant in the middle of this post. dj
If the ribs interfere you can weld up the holes and redrill through the weld. Again, get a shop to do it. The wrong rod can make drilling all but impossible.
