I drive mine all the time. I have had it up to about 100 and it encounters no problems. Due to the packaging, I COULD NOT get the drag link and the wishbone parallel, so there is bump steer, but I cannot tell as there are no problems driving it.

I have a Schroeder 8:1 and it is very stable at speed. I worked pretty hard on getting the drag link and the axle wishbone the same length and in the same plane vertically. Very minimum bump steer. I am in the process of adding a 2:1 reducer box into the streering to slow it down, right now I have one turn of the steering wheel lock to lock. Great for crusing down the road but it sure makes slow speed stuff a hand full. I will do***ent the conversion and run it on the HAMB.

VERY NICE FAB WORK, that tig welded steering arm is wild!

Could you have attached the drag link to the inside of the pitman arm instead of the outside so it would be straighter? Just wondering, very nice craftsmanship throughout thanks for posting.

I have cowl steering, and I think it works fine at speed and parking. Mine is a BMW box that I modify.

HotRodMickey, you are right on 2 counts, most builders will not tell you that their setup has issues and will back up what they sell. Second, I took the leaf spring apart and jumped up and down on my front end with only the main leaf in place. Over the span of 5 to 6 inches of movement my steering does move. most hot rod front ends will have 3 to 4 inches of travel(so will mine i just didn't have the shocks in place when i did it). if you minimize this movement you minimize bumpsteer.

As for cowl steering working out on paper, I have to say that a alot of setups I have looked at look like they should have bumpsteer, at least some form of it. But until you have the chance to drive each one of these cars you can not say how bad it is.

Thanks to those for the compliments on my work. so as not to highjack the thread I have put a couple of pics of my car in my profile.

A point worth mentioning is that my set up uses quarter elliptic springs rather then "buggy" springs. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.
