Yeah I went on Sunday... We got there at 10-ish and parking lot was pretty open, not too many people in there at that time.. it was great! Found lots of goodies (thank goodness I'm working on a Chevy this time).... Buddy of mine is working on a Mopar and needless to say gets frustrated at what's NOT available. All in all a good time. Looking forward to the one in March.

  2. i'm a bit late on this, we just got home Monday afternoon after spending the weekend with friends. I didn't buy much at first just a really nice 59A flywheel, clutch and PP and set of 46/48 rear rods. We left just after noon and went to the Powerhiuse for drinks and lunch. After a couple pints of beer the swap meet regret was coming on hard and getting worse so I raced back and bought that gennie 32 grill insert and extra stainless insert surround that I had thought a bit expensive all day. I am in love with the insert now and so perfect for my car. The car I keep thinking about that if I had the enthusiasm for doing the work was that salmon 57 Chevy wagon. I looked it over and thought it would have made a great project. Saw a nice gennie 32 frame going down I-5 on the back of a pick up this afternoon on our way home. Stopped at the machine shop after we crossed the border to check up on my flathead and take a peak. Great weekend.

I didn't get to see much of the swap meet, but I did sell my 32 flatbed and a bunch of other stuff. Found a good set of early 194 heads (462's) for $60 on my way out too. Lots of people and parts-that is one of the best swap meets of the year.

My buddy bought those for his '47 Ford Sedan. They are beautiful. I helped him lug those out of the building, and felt kinda' weird, like everyone was ogling them. Made me blush a little.

Oh, and the dude would not budge on the price. Ouch...

The hot rodder that bought my '54 wagon was 81 years young! his birthday was sunday and he was giving himself a present. When I delivered the wagon, he showed me his fleet. '49 merc, '46 ford coupe, '58 bel air, 2 cameo pickups, and a 30 model A coupe. He also had 4 projects waiting to be completed. Amazing guy. Meeting him was probably the highlight of the swap meet for me.

  9. I'm a week late on this thought but it made me happy that of the 3 banjo diffs I saw at the swap meet, including that 32/34 unit with the old chrome axle tubes was SOLD. A decade ago you'd not have been able to give a banjo diff away at a swap meet.
