You're just off Parkside... I've passed by many times...! I love your cars. I'm in the neighborhood too and have a Starliner...

  8. Would somebody please not chop this car? I mean, would you chop a 63-63 Riv? I think, like the Rivs, your Galaxie was beautifully proportionally from the factory. I'd get it into the weeds first, then and think about how many ways you can optically lower the car second, mildly (reradiusing the wells for instance if it's metal mods that interest you. I think a tasteful color and some mild scallops could achieve the same effect as a 2" chop. You still really want to chop her? Before going all scissor happy, take a moment to study what Gary Howard did with Jimmie Vaughn's Riv (Rodder's Journal back issue) It's got the subtlest chop I've ever seen. You have to look at it for a minutes before you even realize it's been whacked. I've gilded a few Lilys in my day, and it sucks when you wake up and realize that in an effort to do something cool and one-off, you've hurt a beautifully proportioned car. That said, it's your car and your vision. My two cents. Hope it helps.

That thing is sure to end up looking pretty sick!

I am curious to see what you come up with in regards to the compound curve, tapered windshield. I have been eying a neighbor's Galaxie for a chop, but haven't convinced him yet.

How about making the roof taller?

    Juan, HAHAHAHAHAH.

My uncle used to call those "shotgun pipes", not bellflowers. And he used to call lake pipes "show pipes".

Sorry Ian, I have nothing worthwhile to add to this thread.

Okay... really mild chop, back moved forward just a hint and the windshield moved back just a hint.. I brought up the pipes closer to the body of the car..

But I still vote for making the roof taller.. haha

Looks good with a little chop! But those slab sides look REAL barren without any side trim!

i would vote on a different roof with more shape in the window area... and def radius the rear wheel wells but just in the front arch so it resembles the front wheel-well a bit more. How bout a round bar grille?

    Try this:
    I didn't chop the top at all, just w i d e n e d it toward the front.
Gives a Thunderbird look, with a more formal/sporty roofline.
But it makes the top look chopped anyway.
    Original above, Altered below.

She vvas dravving lines on the trunk and hood to shovved me vvhere she vvants extra peaks and body lines....She actually has great design ideas, this car is for her not me, im gonna do vvhat she vvants me to do.
