'Vintage Van' ID

Im hoping some of the members on here can ID this; it looks too big to be european, and while it is very rough looking from the pics there something there to start working with, and the seller appears to be offering it for free...
Not that many old US cars here, if any... not even that many old european project cars left really as the envoirnmental agencies have done their best to have them all s****ped....
Im 'full up' with o/t cars but if its 'desirable' I might try to squeeze it in somewhere...
Any ideas??

 

Its GM and I see 6 Bolt wheels so its probably Chevy, late 30s or early 40s

m***iveley tempted; nowhere to put it unfortunateley/realistically.
I'll sleep on it and may give him a call tomorrow. I have a lot of rust in my life, and a lot of projects; still something of US origin that 'early' might be worth risking homelessness over lol
