Question on removing rust in hard to reach areas?

Did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for. I'm in the process of stripping down my Galaxie getting it ready for paint and although it's a relatively rust free Cali car, there's some surface rust in strange places.
These areas include: Inside of roof, behind where the skeletal structure is. Inside the skeletal structure of the decklid. Etc.

The weird part is the floors have very little rust. Almost seems like someone put a humidifier in the there and let it run for a week.

Anyone know of an effective way of neutralizing this ****? Rustoleum spray???

    Thanks,
    Aaron

I would suggest Ospho or Jasco Prep & Prime. Works best if you can scrub the rust while the stuff is still wet with a wire brush but for hard to get at places it will seal off the rust and you don't have to worry about neutralizing it. Let it dry well before painting over it; and be aware that some paints don't adhere to it. I think Ospho recommends oil based paints and testing of others. I know PPG DP epoxy primer works well with it but some other epoxys don't.

For rust you can't get to and scrub with Ospho, I use a product called Zero-Rust. You can set your trunk lid upside down and pour the Zero-Rust in, slosh it around a bit and then set the lid up so the stuff runs back out into a can. It's about the only way I know of to stop the rust down in the pinch welds. It's a little messy and takes some work but well worth it. You can also brush it or spray it inside doors, quarters, etc. I get it from a company called MFG Sealants. I've been using it for years with great results.

Zero-Rust does work well. If you can/need to, you can dilute it and spray it through access holes with an undercoating wand to get it where you need it to go.

I have used a product called extend from NAPA, don't know if it's still available. made a swab out of heavy wire and a rag to coat the inside of body channels.

SEM has Rust Seal that can be brushed, sloshed or sprayed into those hard to reach areas and left as is or top coated.
