Both of my Grampa's were Hot Rodders back in the day. My Grampa in Spokane helped me build my first pinewood derby car and insisted it be numbered ball 8. Almost won but the wheel busted off in the last race. My other Grampa and his two sons were always working on their cars, dirtbikes, minibikes, go-karts... He had an old '48 Dodge pickup that I fell in love with. When my second apartment burnt down he sold it to me for $200. It's been a long term project. My cousin is also married to a mechanic and I traded him my Camaro for a '74 Satellite, which he helped me rebuild. It's not heavily customized since I am not an expert, but we rebuilt the engine from the ground up and changed out a few cosmetic things with some junkyard parts from other mopar autos. I know '74 is a little 'new' for this forum but it's where I started 8 years ago. I attend the local Good Guys show every year for the last six years and recently started pinstriping and it's been a ton of fun. I heard that this is a good place to learn and that there is a lot of good information so I looked it up and joined so I can hopefully get better at both the mechanical and artistic sides.
