built the frame myself last week, has a three inch kick at the front and 13" at the rear, frame will sit about 6" off the deck, with stock 46 front axle.thanks for the photos goes out to Maiki!
the spring perches are misleading...theyll actually be going thru the bones just behind the axle.

It might be a long way to go but when it's all mocked up like that it goes from a bunch of bits and pieces to an instant car.I like the job you did on the chassis.

theyre not super rare, they were a common car in the day my dad said.

lowsquire, what type of rego are you getting? is there any original frame in there or is it totally new? if it's the latter, aren't you gonna have a hell of a time getting a set of plates on it?

    just call me curious! [IMG]

LMAO... well I had a chuckle. [IMG]

Nice work there LS. Is a 4" channel the depth of the frame? Go through the old posts, there was quite a discussion about how much to channel a car. Most agreed that the depth of the frame is just right (but don't quote me on that!)

...and I bet it ain't lanolin!

The WA Hot Rod Show used to be held in the Silver Jubilee Pavillion at Claremont Showgrounds. The Hot Rod Show was usually on the week after the Royal Show. Guess what they put in the shed during the Royal Show... you guessed it. SHEEP!...and COWS... and DUCKS... and GOD KNOWS WHAT THE FUCK ELSE!

They used to hose it down and sweep it with a machine, but it still had a bit of a pong for the first day or so. LOL

  21. Original rails?

"....you don't need to see his identification!"

Cool stuff Ben. I gotta get out your way one day to check it out.

  22. LS,

the problem with most whippet shells, according to the overland guys, is they are rusted out around the mount area.

might have a line on one but am having trouble catching up with the bloke.

Yeh I know doodlebug, the ones I found are.
theyre rusted up about 4" each side, but ill just replace that and build a mount at the bottom, area will be hidden a bit by headlights/shocks,and my cars a DEATH ROD anyway....mwah ha ha ha [IMG]
well itll look a little ratty, old chrome and incidental bits, but the chassis/brakes etc. will be safe.
sparkling cars dont do it for me..
