This ****s, I finally get time to work on my model A and my Lincoln sp-130T won't feed wire. When you pull the trigger it clicks and releases gas but won't feed the wire. When I release the hold down on the roller and pull the trigger it clicks but does not move the roller. I need help, my manual has nothing and I can't find anything on-line but I know someone in HAMB Land knows. Thanks in advance.
I guess i would have to see it myself, and that doesnt help you much. sounds like it could be your feed drive, either the motor died, or the drive mechanizum to the drive motor isnt engaging..might have to dig into it it could also be the electrical connection to the drive motor from the trigger...check and see if you have a reset or breaker too..sorry dont know your particular machine well. hopefully some one with the same one that has had this same issue will come on and know exactly the trouble
mine does that sometimes its a 100 not sure of the exact model. Its got the abcd heat switch and to fix it i just have to click it up and down and it works again. So yea play with your switches and see if it fixes it. theres also a reset switch in by the wire roll but iv never had to use it. Also if you weld for too long it will overheat and shutdown. Let it rest a while and go at it again
On my Lincoln... if the amp setting (A-E) isn't clicked-in good it will do that exact thing. It's scared me a few times. Try re-setting that and see how that does. Good luck! edit: ^^^^ guess it's common
Is the wire tangled and dragging ,Also check and make sure there is enough tension going on the spot between the two rollers that feed ,Also take out tip and see if it feeds .There only my suggestions......
You guys are great it took 11 minutes to get the answer on the HAMB. It was between the ABCDE switch, thanks alot.
My Lincoln does the same thing, and sometimes the stinger comes loose from the welder and makes a big tangled mess...glad you got it fixed...
This sounds all too familiar. Bad thing is when it happened to my Miller I already had it all taken apart when I figured out what was wrong with it.
Had that exact same thing happen to me last night.Had the sheet metal off the welder when I noticed something(probaly me ) had bumped the feed control to zero.At least I got to blow the dust out of the inside.I felt kinda silly untill I thought about how much cheaper it was to turn that control knob insted of buying a new feed motor.
Well, what is cool is you can come on here and get immediate help, I was figuring I would have to spend money Monday to fix it, even though ultimatly I would'nt I still would have lost valuable time this weekend. Great site!
At least the wire didn't break inside the tube somewhere.. I was just getting ready to weld, wire feeding..weld, wire stops. tug on it at end, loosen feed control, nothing. Pull harder..snaps inside. Go to where it feeds in..cut wire..pull, 2 ft comes out and snaps off... Thats why I'm looking to buy another one. Don't waste your time with cheap welders...
