I found the hood and trunk emblems for the caddy in the trunk !!!!!! Also I have found a 33/4 ford 2dr in the woods near my house I hope to get for free. And am trying to find the owners of a 40 ford 2dr and a 35/6 ford pickup. All are way rougher than the caddy , but lots of usable parts. I Got a thickstun pm-7 recently for cheap. I hope my luck keeps going . I may need to buy a lottery ticket !!!!!!

  11. That just screams "cruiser!", doesn't it??? I love the big Cads - so what if it's a four-door? Clean that puppy up, and pull the seats to see what the floors look like. It looks like it might run/drive with just a few hours of tinkering.

  12. Fantastic find there pal.
Are you trying to hoard up ALL the good stuff around?
I better ramp up efforts to fill my yard up first. HA
    Keep us informed :)

This keeps finding its way to the first page, looks like a build thread is in order!

I had a little time to mess with the caddy today,to many other projects. Put a battery in it ,all the lights worked , engine spins over good ,oil pressure light went out, good so far. Poured some gas down the carb spin it over nothing. Popped the dist. cap filed the points, pour more gas down the carb, FIRED right up,oil pessure is good geerator light went out, I have not cleaned the tank so ran a fuel line from the pump into a gallon jug. gas down carb spin over fires up no fuel pumping to carb did this several times. Has a busted diaphram in the fuel pump . Ordered pump from napa be here in the morning. Probably why this car was parked. Free Caddy with a title and it will run Don't get much better than that !!!!!!!!

Wow, that is just awesome. My brother and I once bought a '48 Chevy at an auction for $25. My brother had it running in under an hour.... sigh... my wife convinced me to sell it along with a second '48 that we had bought at the same time..... Great find in your Caddy. This is just an awesome story!

  15. Very Nice old Caddy. The Dagmars are the height of Cool. A great machine no matter how you decide to build it. Modern cars could take lessons from the way those babies ride. I would rebuild that engine and drive it forever.Wonderful find!!

Well I am paying it forward today sort of. Giving a 53 Buick 2dr to a guy. It is not even close to the shape of my Caddy . But it is complete except it don't have the "mercury " trim on it He needs it for parts and it probably would be sitting where it is 10 yrs from now if I don't let someone who can use it have it. So I hope to keep the good karma thing going.:)
