Does anyone know how the Cadillac V16s had their cylinders numbered? Was 1-8 on one bank and 9-16 on the next, or did it go back and forth across the engine? I'm trying to understand the firing order on these engines (I don't know if the firing order was the same on both the 45* and 135* versions), and I can find the order online (wiki says 1-12-8-11-7-14-5-16-4-15-3-10-6-9-2-13), but I can't make any sense of that unless I know how the cylinders were numbered.

I thought someone here might know. Hard to find anything about these guys on the internet.

    Thanks,
    James

James, If you need any more tech info on that engine let me know. I have a factory manual for a '37. It's not the most informative and you have to infer a lot from the pics but it helped me when I rebuilt one a few years ago. Jim
