I've been in the tear down phase on a 1964 Comet 202 2 door sedan for several months now and it's finally time to start thinking about re***embly. The scenario in my head is of a 17 year old kid who bought a '64 Comet second hand in 1968. How would he modify it? That's what I want to know. What did a mild custom look like in the late 60's? Anybody got any pics?
I grew up in the 60's graduated high school in 66, but I don't believe I ever saw a 64 comet customized. Set up as a drag racer with a tube front axle maybe, but don't remember any mild customs.
Yeah, but everybody builds g***ers out of them. Not looking specifically for Comet pics just pics of late 60's style. Something for inspiration.
I agree. Don't g***er it. Go custom. Here are a few pictures of customs/lowriders from the mid to late 60s. A '64 Comet is a fine canvas to start with. DO IT!
yeah, that's the ticket. thinking about doing a "panel paint" kinda thing with the roof. it's a sedan so really big c pillar. keep 'em comin'.
