damnit! (wheel fitment problems)

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by tulfabrication, Feb 22, 2010.

  1. i was so excited to use these 17" steelies i got for $100 with tires. well, tonight i was mocking up the bed and fenders and discovered how "well" they fit.

by the way, my apologies for the pictures, im building the truck in my single car garage.

so does anyone have any ideas...im thinking new rims. as you can see i need almost 4" to make the wheel sit right in the fender (if anyone has some wheels that might work let me know haha)

That looks like an F-1? If it is put a mid 80's truck rear under it from a 1/2 ton Ford and you should take up your space and it's an easy swap if you want to run those. Or even better have the wheels widened and you will have a one off deep wheel.

I think the problem is with your tape measure. The numbers are upside down.

Stick em on the cl***ifieds and get some reversed wheels that fit . You'll be able to use these to figure out what offset and backspacing you really need .

  7. yeah about that, i was actually thinking of getting these altered. what would be the best way to go about getting the right measurements for offset/backspacing...etc? i'd swap my rear but it's a fresh ford 9" with a locker and 4:10's.
