    uhhh, hey.

my name is jon, I'm almost 16, i've been hanging around the last couple of days, to make sure this is a place i like, and a place i would like to be, to make sure i wasn't wasting your time by posting once and leaving.

    i own 3 projects (only one is currently drivable): 1940 ford pickup, 1923 T-bucket frame, and a 1966 amb***ador.

    [image]http://hotrodders.com/gallery/data/500/1729740ford_001-med.jpg?5339[/image]

this is my 1940 ford truck.
the '40 has a 1950 ford super coupe rolling chasis,a ford small block, and a C-4 ******. im right now in the prcess of fab.ing up some floor boards for it.

the 23 T-bucket frame has a indipendant front suspension (it's what i had lying around. cheap and easy.) 400 ford big block, Dana 60 rear end. no ****** yet, and i havent decided on what type of body to use. i am sort of leaning twords a early thirties ford 5-window, full fenders, and have it sit low. real low.

the 1966 amb***ador will be nothing more than a highschool lowrider. it has a 232 straight six, auto ******. all i realy want to do with this is put a cool stance on it. don't realy want to restore, or kustomize, just make it look cool enough for highschool cruiser.

i worked at a custom car shop for 6 months, learned so bodywork, some old school tips and tricks. but 6 months isnt enough time to realy learn alot. so i searched the web for a forum that specialized in nostalgia (or vintage) hot rods and was pointed to come here. this is a p***ion that has realy taken me. i love the primer scene, flat paint and flatheads, but also love the true vintage scene. but i also love the 50's/60's customs.

im not realy into the new scene. billit everything, rubberband tires, lexus engines, and all that. but when people see my age they beleive i've been persueded by rags, the T.V. ect. but i learned it from my old job. there realy isn't alot of imagination in todays (excuse me) "hot rods". its just take a stock body, put in a new V8, billit dash, wheels, ect, shiney paint, and your good to go....

sorry i tend to get over exited when i get into nostalgic speeches. can you tell? im here mainly to learn the ol school way to do things. from lowering to chopping.

feel free to ask me questions about me, my projects, ect.

is it cool if i hang around awhile, ask questions, and post? [IMG]

For avatar info, goto the top of this page and click on "Main Index"..then click on "Questions and suggestions" and your question should be answered. Your status on the left side of the page can't be changed by you. After you've been here awhile and posted a few more times, that status will change. Just think! You can be a "grenade inspector"in no time!
