Ugh! That's ugly. Hope it all works out in the end. I'm sure it's hard to see how right now though.

Keep your head up man! People can't be replaced tools and cars can.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

that's horrible to look at.. sickening really. I lost a few cars and most tools in my shop during Katrina, but nothing on this scale of loss. I know you're probably still in shock. It took me a few days just to get where I could deal with looking for what might be left ..Welding accident? wiring? anyone know?
I'll head to the facebook page...

I haven't read the whole thread. And I hate when someone else does this, but did anyone mention what started the fire?

Not at this time Ray. Fire is the one thing that scares me as much or more than anything.

thanks for all your attention to this matter guys. ive had the pleasure to see many cars jason has built and ive met him on many occasions. he lives a matter of minutes from me and i felt that i should step up and get something together for him. we have set up a facebook group page which has 245 members in less than 24 hours. we are planning a benefit on his behalf sometime soon if we can iron out the details.

i ask you shop owners and suppliers to step up and help jason out.
parts, tools, supplies, nuts/bolts, cash, ANYTHING!

we are taking cash donations via paypal to his email address elky59@hotmail.com

    the facebook group page is

joel liss at mindless metal fab is setting aside a portion of his profits to go straight to the fund as well.

That is just devastating! Man I hate to see that.

  24. that bums me out to see that classic steel charred-as long as everyone was okay--it's just steel man-but damn good steel it was.

  25. That brings tears to my eyes. Lots of dreams ruined.

  26. A few years back I had some trouble out of the lil yellow tub on the way home from L'ville. At about midnight, a clubmate of mine, Gator and I dropped in and fixed my car in Jason's shop. Jason had never met me, yet he opened the door, looked at me and Gator and said help yourselves to whatever you need and home he went. I hate hearing of such misfortune, but I got to think that he will overcome this in a short amount of time.

That's a fucking bummer sorry for the loss man... sheesh worries the hell outta me that any of us here might go through that. My buddy and i kill the breakers everytime we leave his garage where we work on the cars, saves money and prevents this tragedy.

Any word on how it started?

Would you like us to email first for an address for any donations?

Maybe us HAMB artists can have a benefit art auction here to help out i don't have a lot of tools but i can donate towards that.

So sorry for your loss. Thank God no one was hurt. If there is anything I can do, let me know. You probably have opportunities closer than me, but it you need a little work while you get things squared away, just give me a call. I am sure I can find something for you to do for a bit while you get the shop rebuilt. Or you just need to get out of town and come down to the beach for a week. We can give you something to do to make some bucks while you catch some ocean.
    Again, sorry. Good luck.
