  1. Some of you may remember posts about this car earlier in the year...

Well, you can now check it out for yourselves. The owner, Rod Hadfield is heading to the US for a bit of a holiday.

    He's also bringing this...

    AND this...

I'll admit that this is a bit of a surrep***ious plug for a website I do some work for, but there's a bunch of pics and some info HERE.

The top and bottom car I would pay good money to see. The Tall T is a bit too seventies show car for my tastes. Still a nice stable of rides.

    Good riddance!

Three of the ugliest, ill-concieved "cars" EVER!

And don't get me started on the painted-on rust

  12. Hey,

I dont want to start WWIII, but you think those cars would cause the storms they do if John (Rod and Custom) built them? THey sure seem to stir up a **** load of emotion when they are talked about. Wonder how much of it is the cars or the man or the shop...

Harsh words from a stranger there sixfive,

takes alot of guts to build way out cars, much easier to stick with a belly ****on, red flathead 32 roadster! got a photo of your ride, some might have similar things to say about it???

Got to hand it to the man, love or hate the rides he builds what he dreams.

is that good or bad? dont know , dont care, their his cars.

Hey, i'm sure most people would agree my wagon is pretty ****.. rough as guts, no mufflers, and i drive the **** out of it to the tune of about 50,000 miles a year.

But would it make it cool if i painted it up like an airplane and stuck plastic machine guns on the side?

All im saying is maybe they could have been toned down a bit... some more thought put into style and proportions etc. not just crazy motors.

Is that you Glen? So a bog stock six cylinder with no mufflers is your idea of a hot ride?

Guns are made from wood mate.

I agree, the car is a little kitsch, but Rod had a theme in mind and he sure as **** stuck to it!

Yeah, the pickup would probably look cool with a straight paintjob, but once again, Rod had a theme... [IMG]

I think we need FlatOz and SixFive on Jerry Springer...

Yeah well I drove my ride 80,000 K's

    Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Yeah yeah? well I *beeped* your mumma!

    1. Some people like CrAzY motors.......
    2. Some more thought on 'Style and proportions'....even if these cars are not your thing, I doubt that you can even remotely sugest that there wasn't any thought gone into their 'style' or 'proportions'.....
    3. Rod buit them his way, for him. More power to him for it...
    4. The suggestion/inference that he doesn't 'drive' his cars is ludicrous.

Note: these cars may not be how I'd build em, but I certainly appreciate them, and the man/men who dream't & built em. Rod is an Australian rodding Pioneer, whether you like his cars or not, & and I sincerley wish him all the best with his international rodding exploits.......

    Cheers,

    Whoa, hang on a minute.

I know for a fact that Rod does indeed drive these cars, I've seen them around at many events.. thats not what i was implying.

i also dig on the the wild engines in them, especialy the merlin.. its the rest of the car around them that i dont get.

And in no way am i saying that my car is better than Rod's,
or any one elses in particular.. it most certainly is not, mainly beacuse of the fact that it does run a stock 6 cyl. but not THE stock 6cyl.

i too would like a fast car... thats why i'm building another
    and with a wild engine

But you can bet your bottom dollar it wont be gaudy and over accesorized.

As I have said on here before Rod, is one unique individual. None of these cars are my cup of tea. But the workmanship and engineering in the '55 is unbelieveable. Geoff aka Whodaky

    Wanna race it?

I thought it was hard putting a 383 Mopar in my '57 Ford, I wouldn't sign up for a project like that '55.
The V-12 Lincoln motor is awesome, it takes lots of balls and most of all a lot of talent to build something off the wall like that, mechanically and aesthetically. Love it or hate it, it deserves respect.

Any number of talented HAMBers could post a tech on chopping a top or building a bad*** Hemi. The number of people that could post on how to build a supercharged Merlin or a V12 Lincoln would be considerable smaller.

Did I just do both??? [IMG]

Geez, I thought you Kiwis spoke Aussie over there. LOL

  29. Does anyone know where in the U.S. he will be with the cars? I would love to see ALL of them.

Not sure yet. He will be in the US from January 1 I believe. Look out for him on the West Coast first.

If you know Jay Leno, give him a call. He'll probably be snooping around the Merlin powered '55. [IMG]
