Hey guys, I have been playing around with this lamp for quite a while now and every once in a while I get a bug to market it a little to see if there is any interest. Usually the urge p***es but I finally made it; so here it is...

You guys all seem to be pretty in-tune (no pun intended) with what is cool and what is a dud. So would anyone be interested in this item or similar items?

I can also make custom lamps from almost any valve cover and almost any timing cover if interested in a custom one. PM if interested in buying and please comment below.

It's a good looking piece, but I think you're asking the wrong crowd if we would buy it. Not only are most of us cheap *******s, but this crew is a pretty industrius bunch, probably preferring to make things than to buy them, overall.

My suggestion is to go market that on a corvette board or a late model bolt-on board, where people aren't as creative and able to build stuff like that on their own.

Or just list it on the evil auction site and see what happens, I bet you'd get some takers.

Cool idea. I'm not sure how many you would sell to people on here (they will make them on their own) but I bet there are a bunch of people out there that would buy them. Good luck!

  7. Does it leak oil like all the other cheap chrome valve covers ? I think it's a very cool idea and like the others have said, it would definately have a market but how well you do depends alot on how cheap you can make them. Sell a bunch before Speedy Bill steals the idea, farms them out to the Chinese, and starts selling them for half the price of yours.

Someone stealing my idea is the main reason I have kept it under wraps for so long. I would love to work with someone for m*** production but do not have the knowledge on how to go about that.

Thanks for all of the compliments on the idea and I REALLY hope no one steals my idea but I had to put it out there at some point. As for price I could make them for $129 each. plus shipping.

I have been custom making parts and products for just over a decade now and was (and still am) apprehensive about releasing things to market.

Truth is, it will be copied whether its patented, copyrighted or not. I always found, be first, be the best and be able keep up with demand - at that point the compe***ion becomes useless and is just seen as a cheap copy.

I love the lamp and for me even though I can build and fab one just like it your price is reasonable and it is a quality product - I would choose to purchase one of yours - however the people that would build their own would never have bought one from you in the first place so you never lost a sale.

I had one product we moved close to a thousand units of, compe***ion (copies) didn't show up until 300-400 units in but at that point it was too late, I was a household name and had started to flood the market.

Scuff them up, hit em with a hammer, throw them down the street a few times then let them rust up real nice and sell them to rat rodders.

I wouldn't buy one, but I will hijack your idea... :)

Actually I think you might have a market depending on how much you want for one...

as an idea on this...instead of the "click cord" switch; how about incorporating that breather on the top, maybe with a potentiometer so you could dim and brighten it

  24. Now I know what to do with those single valve covers I have laying around! I'm sure my wife will love it sitting on the computer desk.

I'd rather see it made with vintage parts. if you did a Hemi one you could put more light bulbs inside.
