The outcoming of all of the french flatheads was an exciting thing, but...... I recieved my april 2010 copy of hemmings classic car yesterday and the coverstory is "Chevy Sixes". Besides a number of great six power'd bowties, theres an article with the 50 year history of the chevy inlines. At the end of the article it mentions that chevy had a version of the 250 that was marketed in brazillian Chevys THRU 1998!!!!!!!!!!! Would anybody have any info or links to info on these motors? THANKS.
This stuff is really cool!....There are some youtube videos of a guy from there with a turbo 250 drag racer http://www.engineracing.com.br/pecasnacionais.html# they speak Portugese in Brazil by the way.
Here's some video from Argentina they've got stuff for the Chevy sixes aswell, http://www.rmcompeticion.com.ar/MyMain.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kn8kaiPu78&feature=related
WOW!!! That duel pot manifold is crazy looking!!!!! I wonder what it looks like with carbs on it??? ahhhh shucks...theyre for the 250, not the 235.....
there was an story in antique truck magazine several years ago about chevrolets made in brazil and driven to detroit mich for chevrolets 100 th aniversery. i think they used the 235 pump oiler 6 until a few years ago. i know a guy from brazil i could ask him if you want more info
ITS true...!!! They have some that were Hi-Perf models called the 250-S, with a decent solid lifer cam I they have all kinds of turbo kits and multi carb setups. they even have some 3 2bbl factory setups
They have been discussed on Inliners for years. Those engines use a 12 port head, unlike the siamese heads on the US engines. A few guys here in the US have used those heads in turbo applications with good results. But for N/A use, the siamese head is vastly superior to the Brazilian 12 port head.
