My 53 Buick I just purchased was delivered yesterday, Body & Chop not to bad, But mechanical end is a whole different thing, I was fed a real line of BS when I was purchasing it, I had a friend look at it before I bought it but needless to say its a mechanical NIGHTMARE, Nothing thats not fixable but a whole lot more than I expected, I wanted a project but not a total rebuild, Body aint to bad so I will get all the mechanical fixed & maybe think about doing the body work down the road, By the way if anyone knows the guy who built this originally let me know, It would be nice to get a hold of him.It has a 455 buick in it with a Turbo 400, Nova Subframe & Nova rear end, The color is starting to grow on me is 02 VW Candy Green, Its been Chopped 4 inches, The wheels have to go there 20" and way to big for front of car, No clearance what so ever. It should turn out to be a nice driver once I get everything dialed in.

That ride has a lot of potential. The best thing you can do aesthetically is get rid of the monochromatic scheme and get some bright work going. Those Buicks are real pretty, and you got yourself a nice one. Good luck and keep us posted

Wheels are definately going, I would hate to think what they would want to plate front bumper & rear would have to be cut off as it is molded to frame, No trim around windshield or rear window due to chop, so that pretty much leaves some stainless trim on sides, I think im done with chrome for awhile I have 2 custom bikes I built & Im pretty tired of the shiny stuff for awhile ?

Done with the Bikes, it Feels Good to get back to the Hot Rods !! By the way these are both for sale If anyone Intersted ?? I did everything on these bikes including paint, I brought a kid in for the art work on the Demon & needless to say the kid was a hell of a airbrush artist, Everything you see is Freehand & thousands & thousands of hair line brush strokes to create the Demon.
    Thanks Perk

well for starters on the shiney stuff, maybe just some stainless window trim, head light bezels and the grill teeth? but deffinitly get rid of the wheels. throw some widewhites and black steelies on it. or maybe some astro supremes? plus you can probly still get some decent cash for the Rimzzzz on craigslist

Just thought if anybody might be interested I had New gl*** made for the Buick and I found a gl*** shop in Jainsville Wisconsin that not only will cut you a curved windshield at a reasonable price but came out to the house after I sent him a template of old gl*** and installed it and it fit Perfect, If anyone in the Midwest area is looking for a chopped windshield contact Paul about your project, he has access to new windshields or can cut yours & does Quality work, Here is a link to his Shop.He also ships Nation wide.

I ***ume that you like the way it looks or you would not have bought it. As you already have said, change out the wheels but beyond that, it will take some real money to put the chrome back on it. The paint color fits well with the monochrome look. May not be the look of a traditional custom but so what. Enjoy driving it.

Wheels got to go, and I am not a fan of all the chrome painted the same as the car. Other than that it looks cool. Need something though cuz it all just blends together right now.
