    RCNUT,
I see, the typical useless solutions so far & the lame *** hypotheticals that you get when you ask for some simple help here sometimes, blah, blah, blah!

I have a place in the Oak Creek/Milwaukee that will exchange your bottles, PM me or call 414-744-5420. ****, don't even contact me, just go there yourself...
    VALLEY GAS!!!
They are off 10th & Rawson, just past Grainger, go to the back door, leave your tanks in your truck, go get the dude from in the store (use the back door!), he will take care of it, they RULE, myslelf & all my homies have used these cats forever!
They don't really care about your bottles history or yours, they just want your money so don't call them & ask a bunch of stupid questions & tell them the history of your bottles, just take your **** there & get them filled.
Very cool guys to deal with.
There you go, usefull info, how refreshing right.
    Sincerely,
    Cheatercarl

We get all our bottles exchanged at Linweld here in Omaha... They're actually tryin' to stray away from selling bottles because they can make more $$ renting..

As far as your acetylne bottle goes why not switch out to propane? we use it for all of our torches, works great..

Valley gas is where it's at. Or you could take the advice of others and omaha Nebraska or Rockford Illinois or somewhere else rediculious out of the star you live in. In that case if my sister had a **** she would be my hot brother.

    THIS IS RCNUT223's original post......

Need help gwtting my oxy-act gas bottles filled.

I have a set of full size oxygen and acetylene bottles that I have owned owned and exchanged (note:they are inspected and current) for the past 20 years or so. I bought these when I lived in Nebraska and always exchanged them at Linweld. I moved to Wisconsin 15 years ago and frequently traveled west for work exchanging the bottles in Des Moines. Well I have changed jobs and don't travel west anymore. I have tried to get the bottles filled localy, but am having no luck, they want to rent me new bottles instead.
I live in Beloit Wi anyone have any ideas on who would fill these near me?
    Thanks
    Mike

Mike, would you be happy w/exchanging? It looks like you would be, well if you are happy w/exchange as it appears you might be according to your original post, then go check out VALLEY GAS, take cash, it will be the cheapest exchange you every do.
    Sincerely,
    Cheatercarl

Back about '64 my dad went with me to get a new oxy/acet setup. We bought the torch kit and took out a 99 year lease on the tanks, it's in the safe deposit box at the bank. It's transferable and we've got a little over 50 years to go.

Sounds like a small city problem. Ive never run into that and dont understand why they would screw with you so much..That is so unprofessional.I can swap or refill any current bottle at any place in vegas. Hope you get it figured out...Dave

Ive ran into the same problem. Had the same tanks for 25 years and went to have them filled at airgas in knoxville and they said without do***entation that the tanks were mine the couldnt fill. I asked what to do with my tanks if they cant fill them and the smart*** at the counter said make fence post out of them. I will not deal with airgas from now on.

No problems with my local Airgas or Air Liquide, they both fill my tanks no problems.
They do exchange on my little CO2 keg tank though.
