Congrats on the car in general. It was fun to watch the build. Cool indeed. And congrats on the sale.

I have often wondered what it would be like to sell mine and move on to another project, but after 26 years, it is hard to contemplate. But still, I ponder...

Looking forward to seeing your new projects as they progress!!

That is such a sweet car. I remember seeing it in Rodder's Journal. Made me want to get a Starliner for a while, but they're hard to find.

Anyway it's beautiful and that paint is to die for.

I just want to tell you (and I'm sure you've heard it before) that that starliner is seriously one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen. I find myself just starring at the pictures of it in the rodder's journal article. That car just does something too me, its so utterly perfect.
It is hard to let stuff go, but with the evacuation of one, comes the completion of another.

It is strange thing how some things come back into your life. I am glad to be the new cartaker of the car and has alot of meaning to me have been part of the build of the car.
I am looking foward to letting everyone on the eastern side of the country see it.

KIRK, congrats on selling it but I have to say I am disappointed in you. you never really got a chance to drive the car. you should have take a good long road trip, maybe follow the trip the Hirota Merc did or some other long road trip. that would have sealed that car in history.. and with you having the ability to write about the potential road trip to other GG events would have been something worth writing about.

again congrats and I hope your newest ride gives you as much or more pleasure..

You're right, that is the one element that the story needed.

I have one planned if all goes well. I want to drive it up to Puyallup for Gooduys, then leave it there, fly home and then back up for Hotrodarama, then drive over to Spokane for Goodguys, then down to Bonneville and back home to Pleasanton for West Coast Nationals. That should be pretty epic if it happens.

Guess I can stop trying to win the lottery.:D Great to hear that its going to a good home.

  24. Sorry to May Cause Dangerous leave, but I understand why it has to go. Hopefully you'll start seeing MCD knock-offs showing up at East Coast Goodguys events in the near future.

That road trip sounds awesome, let me know if I can help out in anyway. This crazy idea just popped into my "Why not enter the Legion Special to race at Bonneville ?" You could build a sweet little trailer to go behind the '40 Tudor and tow both to all the shows, then you can use the '40 as the push car at Bonneville. And maybe Thee Inland Emperors could put together a pit crew for you?

Racing it at Bonneville has been a thought since the car was on paper, but the safety requirements kill it for me.
