Well on my introduction I posted I was going to rebuild my step dad's 53 4 door and it's still a plan. I was going to drop in a V8 etc but I think I may just keep it stock and drop it with steelies. it's in a field full of snow right now so no pics yet.

I decided to build a two door as well. I bought one from here on the HAMB and I can't wait to go get it. I do have a pic of the one I just bought. I don't know exactly how I'm going to build it. I'll will do the paint last so it will have the rough look for a while. I do want to drag race it so a V8 will go in. I like steel wheels...not red lol but light green might look good with dark green on the body. At the same time I like the look of torq thrust rears and those g***er style spoke wheels up front. The only thing is I don't want to make a g***er. I did see a black and orange..ish Tri 5 with this set up that wasn'traised up in the front and it looked pretty sweet. Here's a picture the seller was nice enough to hang on to it for me until the weather breaks.

That car looks nice and solid. Doesn't look like a native of the mid-west...

It sat under some trees in South Dakota so it doesn't have too much rust. It needs floor boards and some work on the right side rocker. The lower rear 1/4 has some rust but it is towards the rear and looks easy to fix...famous last words. I have to go to Iowa to pick it up....bit of a road trip about 11 hours each way:eek:

I thought about throwing a big block in this car but after some searching on here it sounds like t may not fit well. I couldn't find a real good post about this swap.

I've been a moder muscle car guy for years but one day the idea popped in my head to build my step dad's 4 door and now all I can think about is building some old 50's cars....must be I'm getting old. I may sell the 87 GN I have to play around with some of these and get into trading and swap meets etc. Just seems like fun.

Congrats on on both cars. Sounds good. Make the 2-door into a hot rod and the 4-door as a near stock custom/cruiser. You will have the best of both worlds, and keep the the 4-door in the family.

The 4 door will stay in the family for sure. He also has an old Model A behind his pole barn that I always thought was junk. It's a 4 door with the roof cut off. I saw one on here built that way and it looked pretty cool. Future project??
