Need fiberglass mold advise

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by s10ace, Feb 26, 2010.

  1. I have this mold and am trying to figure out what this frame is used for. Most car molds seem to have a flat fibergl*** pane molded when the body is molded and the windshield or rear window hole is cut out. May be a flate plate is placed between mold and frame? Any ideas?

its likely the mold was taken from a steel or fibergl*** car and all the gl*** was removed so there was no gl*** or sheeting to mold over..other than that it looks like its just the way they decided to mold it. it looks like the body is split right down the center for the parting line so the windshield and rear window would have just been seperate to remove for release. of the body sides.

  3. Thanks Gunny. I agree. Have you done any fibergl*** work like this? Any tips?

There is no need to fill the window openings...If the mold is made with parting lines in the correct places..My mold for a 5-window is in 12 different peices.....
