I'm a 61 year old disabled/retired USGS hydrologist. Just bought two 1959 Jaguar Mk2's out of a barn in Cape Girardeau, when I saw two Ford model A's (one Tudor and a pickup). Bought both of those too. Which way do I go first?
Another "Old Guy" from SW Montana saying welcome .... And do the fords easy to get parts for easy to work on. I had a 81 XJ6 that I put a 350 chev and 350 turbo in great car but a bitch to get parts for. Donn
Where do all these old farts come from? Okay, okay, I get it. Anyway, here's a genuine welcome to the nuthouse. Hmm, did you say Jag 3.8 sedan? Gota know more. I was a Jaguar dealer for many years...back in the day. That model, the Mk. II, was my absolute favorite. Dash mounted gear shift? But, the Model A's also do it for me. There is no cure for this!!!
Welcome from NZ. SBFs go in to Mk II Jags a lot easier than SBCs. I've done both and the result is better than messing around with the XK-series sixes, unless I had access to a Nissan RB26DET which is the mill out of a Skyline GTR rice rocket. Agree with rustyhood, start with the one you can get running first. Cheers.
