Hey all: Well not really a kid or maybe to some. I'm in my early 50's. Have built a few 6s in my time. Really nice running engines. Last so long and always there when you need them. Will never sound like a big block V8, but just such an honest engine. Have two Chevy trucks. A 68' C10 with a 292 and a 70' with the same. The 68' is a short bed, so I'm gonna hold on to it. Mama gave me an ultimatum to choose from each. The 70' is straighter, but a long bed fleet side....so I chose. If you guys and gals are interested, it's currently on Ebay under 70' C10 eventhough its a genuine C20. Check it out. The auction ends on Sunday. It's light red with Texas plates on it. Has the GM465 four speed and the detroit locker rear with full floating axles. Even the ***embly plant coding is still on the fire wall. Hey, if I hop up my 68', why Offy and not Clifford? I'd like to port the heads and put a 4 bbl on it. How much can I bore and can they safely go to 6000 rpm with ARP rod bolts and balancing or must I go to an H-beam rod? I know these have a ridiculous 4.21 stroke. I know the Pontiac 455s never held up well when I was a kid running around in Miami due to their strokes. At least, that's what my Poncho friends experienced. Of course my old Chevy big blocks ran circles around them. Nice to be here. Best to you all.
