    Thanks for posting the article. I have a pretty big collection of Popular Science, Popular Mechanics and Science and Mechanics mags from the 40's and 50's thanks to my grandfather being a pack rat. Some of the hot rod type tech articles in them rivaled those in Hot Rod Magazine at the time.

    The yellow-painted flathead on the cover page looks
    pretty cool! I love some of the prices quoted in the
    article too...like brand new 4-inch stroke Merc cranks
    for 40 bucks!
