i have a 1930 model a pick up.i'm running all disc brakes.i bought a master cylinder and booster but the booster does not fit along the frame rail.can i run master cylinder by its self? or is there any other way i can go about this delima?i bought a proportioning block and residual valves.is there a braket extender to bring out the booster a little more from the frame rail?
You can run just disc brakes all around and will stop you with no trouble at all ! Just make sure you have the correct master cylinder for a non- power disc brake system . Also get a proportional valve . Just a thought ! RetroJim
There's a lot of vendors...Master Power Brakes comes to mind...that offer a 7" booster unit? Have you looked at going this route? I don't know that you can find a non-power ***ist master cylinder for a 4 wdb setup. Not a brake expert, but correct 4wdb master cylinders have a larger fitting / line for the rear than a drum set up due to the amount of fluid it takes to actuate a caliper.
thanks guys.some friends say that without a booster, just master cylinder, the brakes will act funny.speedway has a master cylinder that will work with all disc brakes and i wouldn't have to buy a diffrent branket then the one i already have for the model a frame.anymore suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks
