Hello, my 235 is tired and am thinking a v8 swap is the way to go since I have to pull the engine anyways. Just wondering what you think is the best candidate V8? I want something that is plentiful and cost effective parts. I also want to run a manual transmission. Which one do you prefer? I have not totally decided on a rear axle yet but depending on the WMS of the stocker I will probably go with a 9in.

It will be going in a 1954 bel air with the manual 3 speed and 235. Its just a cruiser.

    Thanks

  2. Well, it may not be the most original idea, but the chev small block comes to mind.

I have a 1954 bel air 2 door sedan, and me and my boys did the v8 swap. They have v8 swaps also, on there 54 chevys. I love it. I also have a 10 bolt rear end. But not a manuel trans. that is what i have been thinking about doing for about a year now, a manuel trans. I have a 350 trans and i runs great. a 350 chevy motor also. the only problem i ran into and there is a easy solution is. Sanderson headers. If you want i can send you pics.
