If ***s are there occupying space in the world and grabable (i just invented a word), then they are real. It's all about how they make you feel while you're playing with them. Same goes with patina. If it's on your car and it makes you feel good, then it's real. Enjoy! Don't let anyone make you feel guilty about liking fake ***ties or patina.

As long as the owner likes it....

Years ago,way back in the last millenium (I mean in the late sixties),I saw a car that was supposed to have belonged to Rudolph Valentino at a small museum near Luray Caverns.
He wanted the black paint on the coach-built car to appear as snake skin,so he supposedly took a ______ and scratched the paint and crazed the surface.
Whether or not this was accurate or not,the car was all scratched up.

Jet ahead to the 90's,I see a gorgeous times beautiful 40 Ford at a car show and the owner admitted to purposely buffing the paint thru to the primer.
He took her down to whatever was beneath the black paint on the tops of the hood, fender tops and the roof to appear as Ma Nature had her way with the paint.
    The crowd loved it?

    Hey,whatever floats your boat?
Just don't misrepresent it for profit.

Paint it well, then drive the **** out of it. Then you'll have your patina.

Makes perfect sense to me, I love to see a nice shiny car, especially when someone else has to worry about it. You wouldn't believe how many of my friends over the years have become slaves to their rides. Kinda why I prefer to wear jeans instead of dress pants, a hole or an oil stain doesn't look out of place on jeans, but with dress pants, I gotta worry about keepin them nice, so I got no place to wipe my hands.:D

The key here is that the owner admitted it, and the crowd loved it. Honesty makes all the difference.

You can tell a fibergless replaca from an all steel body from a good distance back, You can tell a gl*** diamond from one of Mother Nature's. So...Is Fake patina that good that it would fool anyone?? I belive, that if a guy spent all those hours trying to duplacate what mother nature did, Hats off to him. It's not my cup of tea. Right or wrong, He's the one with the tool and the wallet. I'm like Old Blue eyes, "I did it my way":D
