Beautifull weather at the Texas Thaw today made for lots of fun drag racing.I finally got the Dodge to pull the wheels on the launch .I stalled it to about 3300-3400 on the Transbrake and let her go.The old 60's ******* bars worked great (even though i was told they dont work on Mopars). If you look at the vid you can see how hard they plant the rearend down when i drop the ****on.I need lower gears now or more motor.Even though my car had its best 60' today of 1.600 it only ran a best of 7.29 and that was on a 1.65 launch (im still trying to figure that out). The car was hooking great ,but i was having sum problems on the big end on every p***.The car is rigid as Hell now with the roll bars .Heres a couple of vids to look at it you want. Now its time for more cam and head work .BTW ,i told you guys that Hardlucks 55 was gunna surprise alot of people with that new motor.Congrats on the good p***es guys :)...

Yeah i know .Thats the only thing i hate about that track. All you can see from near the starting line is a couple of roof tops going by .I wasnt sure if it was gunna break or not on the T-brake ,but im glad it didnt.Next time im gunna see if it will stall higher (maybe 4000 if the convertor will go that high).Thats not me getting in and out of the throttle on that first vid ,it was that bad*** little truck in the other lane .You cant even hear my little Dodge over that Big block of his ...

Heres the guy that beat spanked my *** in the second round of eleminations .This 57 Pontiac was a real sleeper.Looked stock at first glance ,but i heard it had a 502 Chevy Big Block in it.I think i ran 7.30 or 7.29 on this run ,and he layed a 7.27 on me.I got him off the line ,but that Big Block Chevy pulled away from me at half track ...

Yes you can use spray ,but i dont have it on mine.Yes its got 4.10's in it ,4.88 would really help it out in the 1/8 IMO .Tell your mom your welcome :).Glad to hear she likes my wifes camera work (shes getting better at it )...

They are just old Monroe gas shocks. They look like they are older than i am .Its an 8 3/4 from a 71 Dodge pickup (narrowed to fit the stock width of the Dart ),with 35 spline Mosier axles ,4.10's ,and a spool .I am thinking i should "back brace" the housing ,before i run it again on the brake. It didnt make the car 60 foot much better only about .004 ,but it sure was alot of fun feeling the front tires touch down after they came up :).I was grining from ear to ear each time :D...

Your Dart was looking great all day. Congrats on the new best.

The '57 Pontiac is running a .060 over 428 with some nice heads.

Good stuff. Now you can prove to all the naysayers that said *******s don't work on mopars that they were mistaken. Did you remove the clamps on the back half of the spring yet?

The Pontiacs got a 428 Pontiac engine possibly an SD,it's not the original engine, aluminum intake, single carb, he didn't say anything about a cam or any more work. Is a total sleeper. He caught everyone by surprise at Ardmore last year. Ever get your tach fixed?

Was told by my partner that the 57 Poncho was running a 428 Pontiac engine...and yes, it ran good...

We all were surprised to see the "shocker" going so good...Keep it up, that little Dart has great potential.

  27. curious as to why you went with a powerglide, when a A-904 has less parasitic drag. They can be made to withstand some serious power......cool vid and the dart sure does get up and scoot...........

I ended buying an Autometer there at the track from a vender.I paid too much for it ,but i needed then so i bought it.I was thinking it was a big block Chevy in it .Didnt know it was a punched out Pontiac 428.It was making tons of Torque .What got me was how heavy that car must be to run like that .I'd bet it was 3700 or more ...

Motor and trans were originally built for a low ten second altered (hence the Powerglide).I agree a TF or a 904 would proly pick up the ET a bit.2500 and under is ideal with a glide ,but my car weighs 3000 and sum change with me in it ,so im not really getting the benefit of the glide IMO...

No i havent removed the rear clamps yet .******* bars can work fine on any leaf springs car IMO ,if people will take the time to set them up correctly (snubber right under the spring eye ,proper snubber gap ,correct angle with the springs, etc).I think alot of the problem is that just sum people use those cheap flimsy ones that just clamp to the springs and then ***ume that they are all junk ,or they just simple bolt the good ones on and dont adjust anything ,then cuss them when they dont work. When people tell me that something wont work ,or cant be made to work ,it encourages me to prove that it does work .I bought these old Competetion ******* from Craiglst here local for $35.00 ,sure was cheaper than Cal Tracs or Super Stock springs by a bunch .Hard to believe it hooks that good on a nasty lookiing ,rusty suspension setup like mine :D...
